Venue
(Reception)
Sunny Palace Chinese Restaurant Sunny Palace has a beautiful large banquet room that can seat more than 100 people. The food at the banquet was excellent. We would certainly consider selecting this venue again.
Party Favors Wedding Coach
Wedding Expressions
We ordered wine bottle stoppers and personalized ribbons from these two vendors. We would have preferred to do postage stamps again (see the California ingredients for details), but we could not order any more at the time.

Both Wedding Coach and Wedding Expressions delivered their merchandise on time, but Wedding Coach did not properly package the stoppers, and four of them arrived broken. Both products were not “wedding-ready”– the stoppers had unslightly stickers that were removed with 92% isopropyl alcohol, and the ribbons arrived in one roll and needed to be cut to individual pieces.

Nevertheless, we probably would use both vendors again.

Invitations handmade We elected to make our own invitations, using white vellum and a color laser printer. For simple invitations, this is a viable, though time-consuming (think a few whole days) method. We purchased much paper through Kelly Paper.

Necessary items for making your own invitations: color printer (laser or inkjet), vellum, T-squares and L-squares, X-acto knife with regular and scoring blades, paper trimmer, rulers, and possibly tape and ribbon.

Dress (Qi Pao aka Cheung Sam) Ivy Silk & Fashion at Quaker Bridge Mall Although we traipsed about New York City’s Chinatown for a traditional Chinese wedding dress, we eventually elected to buy one from a local store.

Jen was gorgeous in her traditional wedding dress. ’Nuff said!

Decorations Michaels This well-known arts and crafts chain store has everything you might need to decorate any venue, except live flowers.
